Ryan Gosling bails on the Logan’s Run remake? Is Nicolas Winding-Refn still attached?

According to Variety’s Justin Kroll, Ryan Gosling has withdrawn from the LOGAN’S RUN remake that would have reteamed the actor with his DRIVE director Nicolas Winding-Refn. Worry not too much though folks, remember, both men already reunited for the Bangkok set thriller ONLY GOD FORGIVES. So at least there’s that…

No telling if Winding-Refn is still onboard to direct the remake of 70s sci-fi classic, perhaps Gosling’s departure has to do with Refn’s. Perhaps a simple schedule snafu is the cause. Either way, I think I speak for many when I say the LOGAN’S RUN remake just got way less interesting. Sucks, because Nic and Ryan seemed pretty psyched to update the story.

Hopefully the smoke clears soon and we learn a little more about the project.
