Sylvester Stallone is sticking to his promise to release a series of images from the making of RAMBO: LAST BLOOD on the way to the film's September theatrical release. For example, one batch of images introduced the new characters Rambo considers to be his adopted family, Adriana Barraza as Maria and Yvette Monreal as Maria's granddaughter Gabriella.
Other images Stallone has shared, and the captions that went with them, have informed us that Rambo is trying to live a peaceful life on his father's ranch, training horses. However, he still uses his survival skills to volunteer for dangerous rescue missions, like saving people from a flash flood. The film's bloody action is set in motion when Gabriella goes to Mexico to find her estranged father.
That leads to plot this synopsis tells us about:
John Rambo, who has been working on a ranch, crosses the U.S./Mexico border to help find the kidnapped daughter of one of his close friends. He quickly finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels.
The latest behind-the-scenes image to be shared by Stallone doesn't dig any further into the story, but instead confirms that Rambo will again be getting his hands on a bow and some arrows. It looks like he's been having a rough time at this point in the film, since his arms are covered with blood.
Directed by Adrian Grunberg from a screenplay Stallone wrote with Matt Cirulnick, RAMBO: LAST BLOOD also stars Paz Vega as Carmen Delgado, "a reporter who covers the Mexican drug trade and teams up with Rambo after her younger half-sister is kidnapped"; Sergio Peris-Mencheta as villainous cartel leader Hugo Martinez; and, in unspecified roles, Óscar Jaenada and Joaquin Cosio.
The film is scheduled to reach theatres on September 20th.
