One of the films that will be playing at this
years Tribeca Film Festival is THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES, a film that is
following in the footsteps of the popular torture theme that has emerged within
the genre. And now the trailer has sprouted online and is looking not too bad.
Shot in a sort of documentary style, the film is
about when
hundreds of videotapes showing torture, murder and dismemberment are found in an
abandoned house. These tapes reveal a serial killer’s decade-long reign of
terror and become the most disturbing collection of evidence homicide detectives
have ever seen. Brutal and engrossing, actual footage from these tapes mixed
with interviews with FBI profiles and victims’ families begin to expose the many
layers to this mystery.
The trailer is being hosted by YouTube and can be
seen
here. Personally I enjoyed their official site more, seen
here.
The makers have taken a slightly different approach at giving you all the
details of THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES and it makes for a pretty interesting
read.
