Nice! Beetlejuice 2 scribes won’t move forward without Michael Keaton

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Can’t speak for everyone, but I love this decision!

Remember last month when we told you Warner Bros. was forging ahead with BEETLEJUICE 2? Well, it looks like that sucker ain’t getting made WITHOUT Michael Keaton as the titular ghost with the most. Like I said, awesome!

But don’t take it from me. Here’s what writer Seth Grahame-Smith had to say about it:

“When Warner Bros. came to us about it, we said the only way we’d do it if we got Tim [Burton’s] blessing and involvement, and we got that, and the star of the movie has to be Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice, and it’s a true continuation 26 years later. Not just throwing him in as a cameo going, ‘Hey, it’s me. I endorse this movie.’ We’re not there yet [with Keaton] because we don’t have a film to present to him.”

Grahame-Smith’s co-writer David Katzenberg reinforced the notion, saying BEETLEJUICE 2 will be a sequel and not a remake. Even more of a reason to settle for no one less than Keaton!

Alright, let’s take a pulse. Who’s in favor of this decision? Who wants to see someone OTHER than Keaton play Beetlejuice? Let some shells fly below!
