New trailer for The Mummy offers horror and action aplenty

Universal has unearthed the full trailer for Alex Kurtzman's remake of THE MUMMY, starring Tom Cruise. While the film still definitely looks action-heavy (as was depicted in the first teaser), there's ample horror on display here, including swarming rats, swimming mummies and one very pissed-off villainess (played by Sofia Boutella). Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

 

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance and Russell Crowe co-star in THE MUMMY, which opens on June 9th.
