New images show the New Mutants played by Williams, Heaton, Taylor-Joy

Last week, we shared a new batch of images from director Josh Boone's upcoming Marvel Comics adaptation THE NEW MUTANTS that centered on the characters Dani Moonstar, played by Blu Hunt, and Bobby "Sunspot" da Costa, played by Henry Zaga. Now the film's official Twitter account has released more character-based images, these ones focusing on Rahne "Wolfsbane" Sinclair, played by Maisie Williams; Sam "Cannonball" Guthrie, played by Charlie Heaton, and Ilyana "Magik" Rasputin, played by Anya Taylor-Joy.

While the film is about mutant characters from the world of the X-Men, it also happens to be a horror movie that was inspired by the likes of THE SHINING and A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: DREAM WARRIORS.

Directed by Boone from a screenplay he wrote with Knate Lee, THE NEW MUTANTS follows

a diverse cadre of teens learning to cope with their superpowers. These new mutants find themselves held in a secret facility against their will and must battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past.

Also in the cast is Alice Braga as Dr. Cecilia Reyes.

Originally made at 20th Century Fox and then delayed for two years because the studio wanted reshoots that never actually happened, THE NEW MUTANTS is now in the hands of Disney, who will be giving it a theatrical release on April 3rd. I'm looking forward to checking it out.
