Huh. And here I thought Netflix's sci-fi series ALTERED CARBON was canceled. Oops. Well, turns out it isn't. In fact, it will return with an eight-episode second season next month. The new chapter will follow the further adventures of Takeshi Kovacs played by Joel Kinnaman in season one and now – via new "sleeve" – Anthony Mackie (AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and AVENGERS: ENDGAME) in season two.
Based on Richard K. Morgan’s classic sci-fi novels the series is set
More than 300 years in the future in a society transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent. Season Two of the sophisticated and compelling sci-fi drama finds Takeshi Kovacs (Anthony Mackie), the lone surviving soldier of a group of elite interstellar warriors, continuing his centuries-old quest to find his lost love Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry).
The second season stars Anthony Mackie, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Lela Loren, Simone Missick, Lela Loren, Chris Conner, Dina Shihabi, Torben Liebrecht, Will Yun Lee, and James Saito. Alison Schapker serves as showrunner and executive produces with Laeta Kalogridis, James Middleton, Rose Lam, Bradley J. Fischer, James Vanderbilt, Mike Medavoy, Arnold W. Messer, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Marcy Ross.
ALTERED CARBON's eight-episode second season hits on February 27, 2020.
ALTERED CARBON: SEASON 1 snagged a 68% rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Altered Carbon leans hard into its cyberpunk roots, serving up an ambitiously pulpy viewing experience that often overwhelms, but never bores.
