This may seem like non-news, but given the troubled history of the film’s production it must be noted that MAD MAX: FURY ROAD has finally wrapped filming. All in all, it has taken a good 30 years for Max to rev up his engines for another adventure. Pre-production finally began on FURY ROAD in 2009, casting announcements followed in 2010 and shooting started last July.
Since then the George Miller directed production has been wrought with budgetary troubles. Producer Denise Di Nova was apparently watching the production’s expenditures like a hawk, but Warner Bros exec Jeff Robinov was forced to fly to Australia in October to monitor the shooting himself. Now, finally, the film will be entering post-production under the hand of Deluxe Australia and its subsidiary companies.
So we should probably commence with the “hoorays” now. MAD MAX: FURY ROAD is a reality. It’s going to be driving into theaters either this year or next (IMDB has it billed for a 2014 release) with Tom Hardy in the driver’s seat. Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Rose-Huntington Whitley and Zoe Kravitz round out the supporting cast. Make with the talkback chatter below and keep on the lookout for further FURY ROAD updates in the near future.
