Mackenzie Davis is trapped by otherworldly forces in Vivarium

Actress Mackenzie Davis is no stranger to the sci-fi genre; you may have seen her on an episode of Black Mirror or in Ridley Scott’s THE MARTIAN, and she’ll soon be seen in Denis Villeneuve’s BLADE RUNNER 2049. She has now lined up another sci-fi project, signing on to star in the sci-fi thriller VIVARIUM for director Lorcan Finnegan.

Davis will star in VIVARIUM as 

a young woman who, along with her fiancé, is in search of the perfect starter home. After following a mysterious real estate agent to a new housing development, the couple finds themselves trapped in a maze of identical houses and forced to raise an otherworldly child.

That’s an intriguingly strange set-up, and just when you think the film might only be about the couple trying to find their way out of the maze it throws in that “raise an otherworldly child” twist.

Expected to start filming in September, VIVARIUM will be the second feature for Lorcan Finnegan. He made his feature directorial debut with the horror film WITHOUT NAME, which is currently doing the festival rounds.
