In the wake of the cult success of the British sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror, the TV streaming service Hulu has decided to get in on the game with their own similar program: Dimension 404.

Inspired by the Internet’s “404” error code, Dimension 404 aims to evoke that 3 AM feeling of wandering onto the weird side of the web, stumbling upon stories that cannot be explained in the world that we know.

The first cast members to board the project are Lea Michele and Robert Buckley, who will be featured in the series' first standalone episode of the six-episode second season.

Michele, the Broadway starlet who hit it big with Fox's show choir series Glee, will play Amanda, an attractive, witty, ambitious, type-A gal with a warm heart. Buckley, who has appeared on iZombie and 666 Park Avenue, but is perhaps best known for appearing in the popular teen soap One Tree Hill for three seasons, will play Adam. In the episode:

Amanda turns to Matchmaker services to suit her rebound dating needs after a bad breakup. Buckley plays Adam, who falls hard for Amanda and drops “I love you” too soon – prompting her to “swipe left” on him. Their breakup forces the emotionally vulnerable and naive Adam to confront a multitude of truths about his life.

Another episode will star Ryan Lee (SUPER 8, GOOSEBUMPS) as Andrew, a teenage introvert and video game addict.

Secretly gay, he is viciously bullied by classmates and only finds comfort and courage at Ernie’s Arcade. There Andrew discovers a mysterious, never-played arcade game called Polybius, and investigates its dark and bloody provenance.

Arcade games seem pretty 90's for a show supposedly taking on modern tech woes, but I'd say Dimension 404 sounds worth checking out at least one episode.

No premiere date has currently been set, but you'll hear it here first!
