John Carpenter & Stephen King’s Christine drives onto 4K this September

One of the most epic collaborations in horror movie history is John Carpenter's adaptation of Stephen King's CHRISTINE. Sure the movie isn't the greatest horror movie of all time (like it should be with that pairing) but it is fun times at the possessed drive-in so we know you guys will be excited to hear today's news.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be debuting John Carpenter's CHRISTINE on next-generation 4K Ultra HD for the first time on September 11th. The release comes with some killer new bonus materials including three featurettes called "Christine: Ignition", "Christine: Fast and Furious", and "Christine: Finish Line". The film stars Keith Gordon (JAWS 2, DRESSED TO KILL), John Stockwell (TOP GUN), Alexandra Paul (BAYWATCH) and Harry Dean Stanton (ALIEN). The film's rundown goes like this:

John Carpenter brings Stephen King’s best-selling novel to life in this chilling thriller. She was born in Detroit … on an automobile assembly line. But she is no ordinary automobile. Deep within her chassis lives an unholy presence. She is CHRISTINE – a red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury whose unique standard equipment includes an evil, indestructible vengeance that will destroy anyone in her way. She seduces 17-year-old Arnie Cunningham (Keith Gordon), who becomes consumed with passion for her sleek, rounded chrome-laden body. She demands his complete and unquestioned devotion and when outsiders seek to interfere, they become the victims of Christine’s horrifying wrath.

The film was originally released on December 9th, 1983 and so this year marks the movie's 35th Anniversary and what better way to give the movie the love and respect it deserves than to snag a copy of this on 4K Blu-ray? I know I'll be grabbing a copy for sure when it hits September 11th.
