It has already been a month since lucky attendees of CinemaCon got to see an early trailer for Blumhouse Productions' upcoming HALLOWEEN sequel, and ever since that event fans have been hoping Blumhouse and distributor Universal would let them get a look at the trailer, too.
We still don't know exactly when we'll get to see that trailer (or a different cut of it), but when producer Jason Blum tweets that early June will be "a happy time" for HALLOWEEN fans, the immediate assumption is that a trailer is what he's talking about.
Blum took to his Twitter account to say, "I want to assure #Halloween fans that we hear you. We have read your comments. And I can assure you that early June will be a happy time for you or perhaps I should say for most of you."
He has to be talking about the release of a trailer, right? We'll know for sure within the next couple weeks.
Directed by David Gordon Green from a screenplay he wrote with Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley, the new HALLOWEEN ignores every previous film in the franchise except John Carpenter's 1978 classic. Jamie Lee Curtis returns to the role of
Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Also in the cast are Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter Karen; Andi Matichak as Karen's daughter Allyson; Miles Robbins, Virginia Gardner, Dylan Arnold, and Drew Scheid as Allyson's Haddonfield High classmates; Will Patton and Rob Niter as police officers; Rhian Rees as a character named Dana; and Diva Tyler as a caretaker, with stuntman James Jude Courtney and original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle both wearing the mask of the iconic slasher.
John Carpenter served as an executive producer on the film and is composing the score.
The new HALLOWEEN arrives in theatres on October 19th.
And while I’m twittering as opposed to “tweeting” I want to assure #Halloween fans that we hear you. We have read your comments. And I can assure you that early June will be a happy time for you or perhaps I should say for most of you. xx
