Someone must have spiked the mineral water over at the boardrooms of The CW, because the network just made an unprecedented move and renewed every single scripted series they have. The 11 series include comedy shows like Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and comic adaptations like Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, and The Flash (comics are kind of a big deal, if you hadn't noticed.)
The genre offerings that got caught up in this tidal wave of support are Supernatural, which is officially becoming a TV senior citizen with a twelfth season; iZombie, which is entering its third season; The Vampire Diaries, staying immortal with season 8; and its spinoff The Originals, which is surviving into its fourth season.
It is doubtful whether or not iZombie will finally receive a full season order, but the fact that it's staying afloat is encouraging. As for those other shows… Well, they're not exactly for our demographic, but I'm obviously a proponent of any genre content staying on the air.
