Almost a year it’s been since announcing Scarlett’s involvement in a sci-fi thriller called UNDER THE SKIN, which comes from English director Jonathan Glazer (SEXY BEAST). Hard to believe we haven’t had an update between then and the new set photos we have below. Way to stay under the radar there Jonny!

Adapted from Michel Faber’s novel by Walter Campbell, UNDER THE SKIN follows:

Isserley, a female driver who picks up hitchhikers with big muscles. Scarred and awkward, yet strangely erotic and threatening, she listens to her hitchhikers as they open up to her, revealing clues about who might miss them if they should disappear…

Or, parsed another way:

Aliens descend upon Earth with a specific mission in mind: To abduct hitchhikers and take them back to their home world, where human meat is considered a delicacy.

Currently in pre-production, we’re still not sure who else will star in the film. It does hold an unspecified 2012 release date though.
