Two of the upcoming horror movies that I'm looking forward to checking out ASAP are HEREDITARY starring Toni Collette and the found footage sequel UNFRIENDED: DARK WEB.
Okay, maybe not so much UNFRIENDED 2, but HEREDITARY for sure. And speaking of the two films, today we have words via the MPAAS that both films have received ratings and – go figure – both have been rated R.
HEREDITARY has been rated R for "horror violence, disturbing images, language, drug use and brief graphic nudity."
And UNFRIENDED: DARK WEB has earned it's R-rating for "some disturbing violence, language, and sexual references."
Do you care about MPAA rating and/or are you excited for one or both of these upcoming films? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on social media!
Synopsis:
When Ellen, the matriarch of the Graham family, passes away, her daughter's family begins to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry. The more they discover, the more they find themselves trying to outrun the sinister fate they seem to have inherited. Making his feature debut, writer-director Ari Aster unleashes a nightmare vision of a domestic breakdown that exhibits the craft and precision of a nascent auteur, transforming a familial tragedy into something ominous and deeply disquieting, and pushing the horror movie into chilling new terrain with its shattering portrait of heritage gone to hell.
The film is written and directed by Ari Aster and stars Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Ann Dowd, Milly Shapiro, and Alex Wolff. HEREDITARY hits theaters nationwide on June 8th.
