I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later, right? According to the folks over at The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog a big screen adaptation of the hit BBC series “Doctor Who” is finally in the works and David Yates has already been tapped to direct!
Way to blow my load in the first paragraph but it’s not like you guys couldn’t see the title of this article. You see Yates is planning on this being the first film in a franchise and is currently looking for writers to work on the project. The production is in the very early stages as of right now and will apparently have no connection to the long-running TV show.
Who centers on an eccentric man known as the Doctor, an alien time lord who travels space and time with the help of a machine called the TARDIS, whose exterior appears to be a small police box but is actually gigantic inside. He regularly teams up with humans to save worlds.
Personally I’ve yet to watch a single second of “Doctor Who” so it’s pretty hard for me to get excited about this news. Alas I’m sure a lot of you out there are huge fans of the show so hopefully this is good news. Is it? How about we get some die-hard “Who” fans to spit some bullets below and let us know how they’re feeling about this one!
