Joe Dante's 1984 Christmas horror-comedy classic GREMLINS received a new 4K release last month (you can pick up a copy HERE), and next month it will be making a very special return to theatres, just in time for the holidays.
The Regal theatre chain has announced that they will be showing GREMLINS in 4DX from December 6th through December 11th. You can check for tickets at RegMovies.com.
Described as a "revolutionary cinematic experience which stimulates all five senses", 4DX includes
high-tech motion seats and special effects including wind, fog, lightning, bubbles, water, rain and scents.
I've never seen a movie in 4DX before, but I'm thinking that seeing GREMLINS in such a way would be a really fun experience.
Directed by Dante from a screenplay by Chris Columbus, GREMLINS tells the following story:
A gadget salesman looking for a special gift for his son who finds one at a store in Chinatown. The shopkeeper is reluctant to sell him the `Mogwai' but sells it to him with the warning to never expose him to bright light, water, or to feed him after midnight. All of this happens and the result is a gang of gremlins that decide to tear up the town on Christmas Eve.
Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton, Dick Miller, Judge Reinhold, and Corey Feldman star.
GREMLINS was produced by Michael Finnell, with Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Steven Spielberg executive producing.
