Now that we know Declan O'Brien will direct Fox Home Entertainment's JOY RIDE 3 and that it will begin production next month, it's time to start seeing some casting news roll in — and today we've got just that! O'Brien recently spoke with Winnipeg Free Press where he spilled the news that Ken Kirzinger (above), who played Jason in FREDDY VS. JASON, will play the truck driving villain, Rusty Nail. Not a bad choice if you ask me. If Kirzinger can tackle the one and only Jason Voorhees, then Rusty Nail should be a cake walk for the actor. He'll just be piling up the body count with a truck instead of a machete this time around — should be fun!
Rusty Nail is back on the road again looking to punish injustice at every turn — and this time it’s with a group of hothead twenty-somethings on their way to the Road Rally 1000. As they drive through a desolate shortcut on the way to the race, an encounter with Rusty turns sour, and soon he is tracking, teasing, and torturing them until the end of the road.
JOY RIDE 3 is produced by Kim Todd (WRONG TURN 4: BLOODY BEGINNINGS) and will be distributed by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment in the Summer of 2014 on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital HD and VOD.
