First clip from Alex Garland’s Ex Machina, starring Oscar Isaac

Before we get a gander of them co-starring in STAR WARS: EPISODE 7, Oscar Isaac and Domhnall Gleeson will share the screen in EX MACHINA, which comes from screenwriter Alex Garland (28 DAYS LATER, DREDD), who makes his directorial debut here. Today we have the first clip from EX MACHINA to share with you.

This first clip, which follows the posters and trailers we brought you back in late October, puts us to the test: The Turing Test, to be more accurate. A small-scale mix of psychological thriller and sci-fi flick, EX MACHINA also stars Alicia Vikander.

The synopsis:

Caleb, a 24 year old coder at the worlds largest internet company, wins a competition to spend a week at a private mountain retreat belonging to Nathan, the reclusive CEO of the company. But when Caleb arrives at the remote location he finds that he will have to participate in a strange and fascinating experiment in which he must interact with the world’s first true artificial intelligence, housed in the body of a beautiful robot girl.

EX MACHINA hits theaters in the U.K. on January 23, 2015. It hits the U.S. on April 10, 2015.
