Work is nearly complete on the sci-fi short BLOOD MACHINES, which is coming to us from the filmmaking duo known as Seth Ickerman. The Ickerman team has been working on this short for a few years, ever since fans started demanding that they expand the video they crafted for synthwave artist Carpenter Brut's song "Turbo Killer" into something more. The expansion of the concepts they introduced in "Turbo Killer" is a space opera that has almost made its way to feature length – originally intended to be just 30 minutes long, it has turned out to be 50 minutes.
Today we're proud to share an EXCLUSIVE look at the newly released teaser for BLOOD MACHINES. The teaser, which is slightly NSFW, is embedded below and offers a quick preview of some amazing visuals.
Starring Elisa Lasowski as strange priestess Corey, Anders Heinrichsen as spaceship captain Vascan, Christian Erickson as spaceship mechanic Lago, Joëlle Berckmans as the breathtakingly beautiful ghost Mima, and Noémie Stevens in a mystery role, BLOOD MACHINES has the following synopsis:
Two space hunters are tracking down a machine trying to free itself. After taking it down, they witness a mystical phenomenon: the ghost of a young woman pulls itself out of the machine, as if the spaceship had a soul. Trying to understand the nature of this entity, they start chasing the woman through space…
The short looks amazing to me, and I'm looking forward to being able to watch the whole thing.
Seth Ickerman is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to cover post-production costs. If you would like to contribute to the campaign and earn perks like a copy of the script or digital downloads of the soundtrack and/or the short itself, it can be found HERE.
