The third season of the acclaimed British sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror is actually being produced rather than distributed by Netflix, featuring a bevy of American stars and directors this time around. Fans who were worried that this would dilute the sharp, terrifying satire of the show should be relieved, because this brand new teaser for the show is stunning. A preview of the technological horrors you'll be experiencing over the series' six episodes, it looks like it's going to be a wild ride. Check it out below!
Black Mirror:
is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us.
The series is created and written by Charlie Brooker, and executive produced by Brooker and Annabel Jones.
The six episodes of this season are "Nosedive," from director Joe Wright (ATONEMENT), which stars Bryce Dallas Howard (JURASSIC WORLD); "San Junipero," starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw (CONCUSSION) and a nerded-out Mackenzie Davis (FREAKS OF NATURE), directed by Owen Harris (KILL YOUR FRIENDS); "Shut Up and Dance," featuring Jerome Flynn and Alex Lawther, directed by James Watkins; "Men Against Fire," starring Michael Kelly, Malachi Kirby and Madeline Brewer, directed by Jakob Verbruggen; "Hated in the Nation," featuring Kelly MacDonald, directed by James Hawes; and "Playtest," starring Wyatt Russell and Hannah John-Kamen, directed by 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE's Dan Trachtenberg.
The series premieres globally on Netflix on October 21st, 2016 at 12:01am PT.
