Dread X Collection unleashes gameplay footage trailer!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I've talked before about the upcoming  DREAD X COLLECTION, which is a cool collection of ten horror game "teasers", that are short, playable experiences – similar to Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro's P.T. in terms of length and difficulty – but different in terms of genre and gameplay style (ala one game that's in the vein of 90's-style crpgs, and another that's made to look like a game you'd play on a Tiger Electronics toy, etc.)

They've also released a trailer for the collection showing off all the varied gameplay, which you can check it out in the embed at the top of the article. Meanwhile, here's the official description:

The Dread X Collection pays tribute to the concept of a "Playable Trailer" pioneered by the canceled Kojima project PT by collecting samplings of 10 dream horror projects from aspiring independent developers in one package. Rather than repeating the PT formula with "spooky hallway" clones, these unique projects explore the boundaries of horror and insanity in a variety of new ways. Some may become full-fledged games one day, others may follow PT and Silent Hills into the netherworld, but playing all 10 Dread X Collection games will give you a glimpse into the bewildering beyond of horror gaming.

Terrify yourself ten ways with the Dread X Collection, an anthology of ten playable "Playable Teasers" for horror game projects from 10 incredibly passionate solo developers. Included in Dread X Collection are games by Airdorf, Lovely Hellplace, Mahelyk (Kyle Frost), Oddbreeze, Scythe Dev Team, SecretCowLevel, Snowrunner Games, Strange Scaffold, David Szymanski, and Torple Dook.

DREAD X COLLECTION will be available on PC May 26th.

So what do you guys think? Excited for the collection? If so, which game are you most interested in? Either way, sound off below!
