Creepy new stills from Marcus Nispel’s Backmask

Yeah that's right, Marcus Nispel's creepy looking possession flick BACKMASK still exists, and we've got some awesome new stills to prove it! This is a pretty mysterious little flick from 2003's TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE director as it has been quietly seeking out distribution here in the States. I'm not quite sure what to make of BACKMASK just yet, all I know is that I can't wait to check it out. All of the stills we've seen so far have been some serious nightmare fuel and the latest batch is no different. Nispel really knows how to cover his films in a very dark and creepy atmosphere and you'll see right away that BACKMASK definitely has Nispel's stamp on it. We don't know much about this one but so far it looks like it is going to be a dark and gruesome ride that will wreak plenty of havoc in the horror genre. Hopefully we'll get a date on this one soon!

During a sex, drugs, and rock-fueled party, six small-town teenagers find an old vintage record and decide to play it backwards in order to listen for any subliminal/satanic messages. Lo and behold, a seemingly malevolent spirit quickly infiltrates the group, wreaking havoc as it moves from one body to another. Eventually, however, it’s revealed that the spirit in question is actually trying to convey a message….and that the real source of horror isn’t particularly paranormal, but rather something (or someone) much closer to home.

The film stars Brittany Curran, Gage Golightly, Stephen Lang, Kelly Blatz, Brett Dier, Nick Nicotera, Nick Nordella and Michael Ormsby. Now dig on the new stills by Lisa Tanner!
