Throughout the month of October we've been taking a look at some AWFULLY GOOD MOVIES from our beloved genre, and so far we've hit you with the 1971 turkey DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN (check that out HERE) and 2010's THE WOLFMAN (peep that one HERE). Now we're back at it with a look at the 1972 American blaxploitation horror film BLACULA, directed by William Crain and starring William Marshall in the titular role.
We recently learned that BLACULA and its 1973 sequel SCREAM BLACULA SCREAM would be coming to Blu-ray in a blood sucking double feature in Feburary from the folks at Scream Factory, which will introduce this film to a whole new generation. Now we're taking a look back at the original film with our latest AWFULLY GOOD MOVIES video series to give the uninitiated a primer of what to expect when they finally get thier hands on Scream Factory's release. For those who have experienced the terror of BLACULA, you'll get a kick out of this look back at a 70's cult classic.
1972's BLACULA goes like this:
An ancient African prince, turned into a vampire by Dracula himself, finds himself in modern Los Angeles.
