The trailer that was released for the Marvel / Netflix series The Punisher in September featured a quick shot of the titular character, played by Jon Bernthal, using a fire hose as a rope while jumping over a stairway railing – a more low-key version of John McClane jumping off the roof of Nakatomi Plaza with a fire hose wrapped around his waist in DIE HARD.
A short clip released on the show's official Twitter account shows 10 seconds from that stairway moment, showing what's going on right before The Punisher / Frank Castle decides to make that crazy jump. And what's going on is some violence.
The series has the following synopsis:
After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.
Bernthal is joined in the cast by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Deborah Ann Woll, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Michael Nathanson, Jaime Ray Newman, Jason R. Moore, Daniel Webber, and Paul Schulze.
The Punisher will be available for binge watching on Netflix as of November 17th.
