Chinese actress Li Bingbing joins Resident Evil: Retribution

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Milla Jovovich has helpfully brought us some more casting news on RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION. Ms. Jovovich tweeted today that Chinese actress Li Bingbing has come aboard the Paul W.S. Anderson film as “Ada Wong”, who is apparently an important character in the RE universe.

The Resident Evil Wiki describes Wong this way:
Ada Wong is a red-clad, cunning and formidable secret agent of Chinese heritage with a mysterious past. Initially a private agent, Ada was drawn into the intrigue and treachery that is the corporate world when she was recruited by the The 3rd Organization to participate in their activities against their primary rival, Umbrella Corporation.

Li has been seen in the films THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM and DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME.

Li joins Jovovich, Sienna Guillory, Colin Salmon, Michelle Rodriguez, Shawn Roberts, Boris Kodjoe, Johann Urb, Oded Fehr and Kevin Durand in RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION, which is set to open on SEPTEMBER 14, 2012.

On a more serious note, there was evidently a major accident on the Toronto set of the film earlier today. As many as 16 people were injured, although thankfully it seems as though there were no fatalities. Read the whole story HERE.
