Trailer: Burn with Josh Hutcherson & Suki Waterhouse in a gas station

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

"I burn myself all the time. It’s not a bad thing. Fire just forces things to change really fast."

Writer-director Mike Gan's contained thriller BURN starring Josh Hutcherson Suki Waterhouse, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Harry Shum Jr., and Shiloh Fernandez will be hitting limited number of theaters, VOD, and digital platforms this August. And today we have the movie's trailer for you to check out.

A contained thriller with unexpected twists and turns, BURN follows

A lonely, unstable gas station attendant Melinda (Tilda Cobham-Hervey), who is tired of being overshadowed by her more confident, outgoing co-worker Sheila (Suki Waterhouse).

More specifically, Entertainment Weekly says the film centers on:

A misguided crook, Billy, (played by Hutcherson) who, in need of quick cash, holds up a group of gas station employees at gunpoint. He soon realizes he’s made a grave mistake, however, as attendant Melinda (Tilda Cobham-Hervey) proves to be a more imposing adversary than her meek looks suggest. After burning his face with a pot of scalding coffee and tying him to a chair, Melinda (who seemingly enjoys burning herself with various substances) and coworker Sheila (Suki Waterhouse) attempt to connect with Billy as the police (led by Harry Shum, Jr.) close in.

Once upon a time, I worked the overnight shift at a gas station and I can tell you so weirdos come in for sure. This movie looks to toss that concept on its ear though and make the gas station attendant the crazy one. Works for me!
