Annabelle Wallis to star in James Wan’s new horror film

Annabelle Annabelle Wallis

ANNABELLE lead Annabelle Wallis is re-teaming with that film's producer James Wan, signing on to star in the mysterious new horror project that Wan will be directing this fall.

Wan crafted the story for the film with his fiancée / THE NUN cast member Ingrid Bisu. It had previously been reported that Wan and Bisu wrote the full script together, but according to Variety details on who will be writing the screenplay are "still being worked out".

Nothing about the plot has been revealed, but Wan has said that he intends for the film to be a "hard-R thriller" with "old school, practical effects."

Wan and Michael Clear are producing the film for Atomic Monster. The project is being independently financed by Starlight Media and Midas Innovation. Midas holds the distribution rights in China, while New Line Cinema will handle distribution everywhere else.

Wan is expected to wrap up work on this film in time to move on to prepping AQUAMAN 2 in early 2020.

Whatever this movie is about, I hope it will give Wallis a more interesting role to play than her ANNABELLE character, who I found to be extremely bland.
