Personally, I haven't yet had the chance to check Amazon's horror anthology series LORE. I want to, don't get me wrong. But the series ofnd og got lost in the shuffle with all my other horror movies and TV shows last year. That said I do plan to check out the 6-episode first season ASAP.
And I'd better get on that fast as it looks like as of today Amazon had renewed the series – based on the popular true horror podcast – for another season, albeit with Sean Crouch as the new showrunner.
The series explores the real-life frightening and disturbing tales that give rise to modern-day myths and legends. Season two will feature new tales from the podcast, as well as original stories not yet available in podcast form. In addition, it will star new castmembers. The hybrid series will continue to feature narration, archive footage, and animation to complement the filmed segments.
You can check out some quotes from the Amazon powers that be about renewing the series for season 2 below and then make sure to hit us up and let us know what you thought of season one and how excited you are for season 2 in the comments below or on social media.
Heather Schuster, head of unscripted at Amazon Originals:
Customers loved the first season of Lore for its unique blend of narrative and documentary storytelling, and we’re excited to give them another season of this suspenseful hybrid series. Sean brings great experience in the supernatural genre, and we’re excited for him to help us tell even more frightening and visually captivating stories.
Propagate Content's Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens:
With Sean Crouch at the helm, Lore is set to be scarier than ever. In season two, we will explore global, real-life horror stories that make this series unlike anything else on television. We are thrilled to be back on Prime Video.
Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd:
As a fan of documentaries and horror, Lore resonates with me on so many levels. Season two is shaping up to be scarier and even more compelling and unnerving than our first one!
The series comes to us from Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens, Gale Anne Hurd, Brett-Patrick Jenkins, Jon Halperin and Mark Mannucci. The show is adapted from Aaron Mahnke’s podcast.
Lore S2 begins production in April.
