Entertainment and media company Rooster Teeth is teaming with writer/director Owen Egerton (who wrote THE AXE MURDERS OF VILLISCA) for a horror comedy called BLOOD FEST.
The story:
Fans flock to a festival celebrating the most iconic horror movies, only to discover that the charismatic showman behind the event has a diabolical agenda. As attendees start dying off, three teenagers with more horror-film wits than real-world knowledge must band together and battle through every madman, monstrosity and terrifying scenario if they have any hope of surviving.
A frequent attendee of horror marathons and conventions, I can imagine that a film which unleashes real monsters and madmen into such an environment could be a lot of fun. Hopefully the horror fans who spring into action won't simply be comedic caricatures, but rather people the horror fans who will be watching the movie will be able to relate to.
The cast of BLOOD FEST includes Seychelle Gabriel, Jacob Batalon, Robbie Kay, Barbara Dunkelman, Nick Rutherford, Tata Donovan, Chris Doubek, and Rebecca Wagner, with Zachary Levi making a cameo.
Egerton had this to say about Gabriel's character:
Seychelle is not playing a damsel in distress. She’s playing a damsel ready to pick up a machete and kick some ass."
Sounds good to me.
BLOOD FEST will be released through FIRST, Rooster Teeth's premium subscription VOD service.
