Hornet is now green

We just recently learned that the release of GREEN HORNET slid from next summer to December 2010, but that delay clearly hasn’t impacted production, as this new statement demonstrates:

A classic character of film, television, radio and comic books returns to the big screen in Columbia Pictures’ feature film The Green Hornet, starring Seth Rogen as the vigilante crime-fighter.  Production is underway on the Michel Gondry (ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND) helmed film. The screenplay is by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (SUPERBAD), based upon “The Green Hornet” radio series created by George W. Trendle and shoots entirely in Los Angeles.  

The press release also confirms the casting of Cameron Diaz, Edward James Olmos, and Jay Chou as Kato, plus a couple of new names — David Harbour (REVOLUTIONARY ROAD) and Tom Wilkinson (MICHAEL CLAYTON, BATMAN BEGINS) — but states that Nic Cage is still “in negotiations” to play the villain, as previously announced.
