Earlier today, John Boyega (STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER) made a passionate speech alongside thousands of protestors in Hyde Park, London during a Black Lives Matter demonstration. "Black lives have always mattered," Boyega said. "We have always been important. We have always meant something. We have always succeeded regardless. And now is the time. I ain’t waiting. I ain’t waiting." Unfortunately, Boyega is all too aware that speaking out can sometimes have negative effects on one's career when he added, "I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this but, f**k that."
In a show of support, Hollywood has rallied around John Boyega, promising that they have his back. Jordan Peele, Cathy Yan, Mark Hamill, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Seth Grahame-Smith, Bill Lawrence, Christopher Miller, Matthew A. Cherry, and more have all voiced their support of Boyega.
The official Star Wars Twitter account also voiced their support for John Boyega and included a link to his full speech.
If you haven't checked out John Boyega's speech yet, I highly recommend checking it out. The actor was most recently seen in STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, where he reprised his role of Finn, the former Stormtrooper who became a hero of the Resistance.
