xXx Vin Diesel

I haven't yet seen XXX: RETURN OF XANDER CAGE for myself, but despite the mixed-reviews, it seems that the film was the best kind of goofy fun, and sometimes, that's exactly what you need. Although the film didn't exactly light the box-office on fire (it did much better internationally), it seems that we may still get to witness the further x-treme adventures of Xander Cage (Vin Diesel). Prior to the premiere of the film, Vin Diesel said that Paramount had contacted him about a fourth installment of the franchise, and now a new report from Variety has stated that Los Angeles-based H Collective will be bankrolling the potential sequel.

The new production-financing entity has inked deals with several high-profile producers, including XXX: RETURN OF XANDER CAGE producers Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum. In a statement, Roth said:

In today’s Hollywood, it requires strong partners to produce and finance such big-budget movies as the xXx series, and The H Collective is a welcome and exciting new company that we look forward to working with.

Not much is known about the sequel just yet, but D.J. Caruso has confirmed on Twitter that much of the cast of RETURN OF XANDER CAGE, including Vin Diesel, Ruby Rose, Nina Dobrev, and Deepika Padukone, will be returning. The director stated that they're currently "honing in on story and start dates."

Are you game for more XXX?

In addition to the sequel to XXX: RETURN OF XANDER CAGE, here are a few of the other projects which H Collective will be financing:

  • THREE SISTERS – Ruby Rose stars in this action comedy with Timur Bekmambetov directing a script by Derek Haas.
  • A CHILDREN'S SONG – When two students competing for a music scholarship discover that their original compositions are based on a single family song, both are determined to prove ownership, leading them to uncover the long lost true origin of the melody: a story of salvation and hope when over 20,000 Jews immigrated to Shanghai during WWII.
  • RAVEN'S ROAD – After a friend dies in mysterious circumstances on a deserted stretch of road made famous by urban legend, a group of investigate the myth. Brian Anderson scripted the horror-thriller.
  • THE PARTS YOU LOSE – When a young deaf boy comes across a wounded man in a snowdrift, he moves him to a nearby barn and helps nurse him back to health. Before long, it becomes clear how dangerous this man is, and the unlikely friendship that develops between the two may have grave consequences. Aaron Paul is attached to star.
  • WHITE HOUSE CHEF – A Chinese chef working in the White House must save the first family after he becomes unintentionally involved in a secret terrorist plot targeting an important state dinner.

Sign me up for some WHITE HOUSE CHEF because that just sounds…awful.
