I know that some of you out there may be getting a little perturbed that we cover so much HOCUS POCUS news out there, but like me, there are tons of fans of the Mick Garris-scripted kid-horror classic, so I'm going to keep spreading the good word as it were. And speaking of which, today's news is more of a nostalgia update so get ready.
To set this up, one of the best aspects of the film is its young cast featuring Omri Katz, Vinessa Shaw, and Thora Birch. And recently, the young cast reunited for a 25th Anniversary event and the pics were posted to a few different Instagram accounts including Thora Birch's. You can check out all the nostalgia-drenched pics below and then hit us up and let us know what you think!
For those who might need a refresher, the original film began when
After moving to Salem, Mass., teenager Max Dennison (Omri Katz) explores an abandoned house with his sister Dani (Thora Birch) and their new friend, Allison (Vinessa Shaw). After dismissing a story Allison tells as superstitious, Max accidentally frees a coven of evil witches (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy) who used to live in the house. Now, with the help of a magical cat, the kids must steal the witches' book of spells to stop them from becoming immortal.
HOCUS POCUS was directed by Kenny Ortega from a screenplay written by Mick Garris and Neil Cuthbert based on a story by Garris and producer David Kirschner. It starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, Omri Katz, Thora Birch, Vinessa Shaw, Doug Jones, and Jason Marsden as the voice of Binks. Steven Haft produced alongside Kirschner.
