The first teaser trailer for Taika Waititi's delightfully absurd anti-hate satire JOJO RABBIT dropped earlier this week, and we should have expected it, but Adolf Hitler himself has reacted to the trailer. A new clip which dropped on JOJO RABBIT's Twitter finds Hitler being told about the upcoming film, which, gasp, has been written and directed by a "Polynesian Jew" known as Taika Waititi who also plays an imaginary version of Hitler. "I thought 'Polynesian' was just a delicious chicken nugget sauce! And what kind of name is Taika Waititi? It’s like all the ugly parts of the alphabet had a child," Hitler rages.

The video is a resurrection of an old meme which began more than a decade ago following the release of DER UNTERGANG in 2004. The German World War II drama depicts the final days of Adolf Hitler (Bruno Ganz) as he remains holed up in the Führerbunker as the Battle of Berlin rages on outside. It's been a while since I've seen one of these Hitler Reacts videos, but this one is certainly a perfect fit for JOJO RABBIT.
The official synopsis for JOJO RABBIT:
Writer director Taika Waititi (THOR: RAGNAROK, HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE), brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film. JOJO RABBIT, a World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy (Roman Griffin Davis) whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers that his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi), Jojo must confront his naïve patriotism.
JOJO RABBIT will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, before hitting theaters on October 18, 2019.
