Highlander 3: The Sorcerer (1994) – The Black Sheep

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Highlander II: The Quickening (WATCH IT HERE OWN THE BEST CUT OF THE FILM HERE) may be one the biggest WTF sequels ever put to film. After the first entry gained legendary status thanks to VHS and the booming home video market, a sequel was guaranteed. But after the second entry bombed, it became a punching bag for critics, fans, and it seemed like the end was nigh.

In 1994 Andrew Morahan stepped into the director's chair with the hope of giving fans the sequel they always deserved. Highlander III: The Sorcerer, aka The Final Dimension (WATCH IT HERE OWN IT HERE), retconned Highlander II and tried to do right by the audience. Did Morahan succeed? Yes, and no. Part 3 is the closest we got to a good sequel, even if it proves that you can't catch lightning in a bottle twice. For this episode of The Black Sheep, we give some love to the underrated Highlander III: The Sorcerer.

Directed by Andrew Morahan and starring Christopher Lambert, Mario Van Peebles, Deborah Kara Unger, Mako, Highlander III: The Sorcerer has the following synopsis:

Deceived that he had won the Prize, Connor MacLeod awakens from a peaceful life when an entombed immortal magician comes seeking the Highlander.

This episode of The Black Sheep was Written by Andrew Hatfield, Edited and Narrated by Lance Vlcek, Produced by John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
