High Tension (2003) Revisited – Horror Movie Review

It’s time for a new episode in our Best Foreign Horror Movies video series (released online under the Revisited banner), and in this one we’re going back to 2003 to look at the first French film to be covered in this series, director Alexandre Aja’s breakthrough feature High Tension (watch it HERE). Check it out in the embed above!

Written by Aja and Grégory Levasseur (and, some believe, heavily inspired by the Dean Koontz novel Intensity), High Tension has the following synopsis:

A beautiful young Frenchwoman, Alex, travels out to the country to visit her family and brings along her friend Marie. Soon after they get settled in the secluded home, Alex’s parents are brutally attacked by a psychotic truck driver, who proceeds to stalk the two women as well. When the killer kidnaps Alex in his truck, Marie hides in the back to try and rescue her, but the bloodshed is far from over.

The film stars Cécile de France, Maïwenn Le Besco, and Philippe Nahon.
