Just got word about this next high suspense French flick, which is looking to take the DELIVERANCE concept to new, scarier heights. It is called HIGH LANE and I really love its poster up top. The rocky cavern, the bright sky, the way the title sort of zooms out at you—all spells “good shit” in my book. What do you say we climb all over the plot? Here goes:
A group of friends on vacation decide to venture onto a trail high up in the mountains that has been closed for repairs. The climb proves more perilous than planned. Especially as they soon realize that they’re not alone. The adventure turns into a nightmare.
I like mixing the typical “friends encountering horrors in the woods” with a mountain climbing adventure. I wonder if the “horror” will be mutants or yokels or something completely different. Guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
HIGH LANE was written and directed by Abel Ferry (THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE ZOMBIES). It stars Fanny Valette, Raphael Lenglet, Johan Libereau, Nicolas Giraud, and Maud Wyler. There’s no word yet on when we’ll be able to catch it in the U.S., but I’ll be sure to keep my eyes open.
