CJ Entertainment and Saban Films have just released a first look at their upcoming Americanized remake of the 2013 South Korean horror-thriller Hide and Seek, which you can check out at the top of the article. It showcases star Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the main character, looking uneasy at…something.
Here's the official synopsis:
When a wealthy businessman follows a lead to find his missing brother, he dives headlong into a twisted underworld of squatters and vagrants that threatens to tear apart his family as he struggles to maintain his sanity.
Hide and Seek is a social horror-thriller that builds upon themes related to the widening gap between the upper 1% and the lower class,” explains the press release. “As population in urban areas balloon and real estate prices skyrocket, lower-income segments of society are finding themselves continually getting pushed out. This film explores the question of ‘what if’ when those left marginalized decide to take matters, and homes, into their own hands
Meanwhile, the Hide and Seek remake – directed by Joel David Moore (Hatchet) and also starring Jacinda Barrett, Joe Pantoliano, and Mustafa Shakir – doesn't have a set release date, but we'll keep you posted!
