There’s probably some law against admitting this here on JoBlo.com, a Canadian-based site whose northern contingent is very devoted to their hockey, but I’m not much of a puck man myself. My knowledge of hockey is limited to NHL ’94 (Does Teemu Selanne still play?…) and my knowledge of hockey enforcers is limited to making little Wayne’s head bleed.
But this new trailer for GOON, the Jay Baruchel-written hockey comedy, wears its hockey love so proudly, I can’t help but enjoy it. I really love the casting of Liev Schrieber in this movie who comes off as a cross between Todd from BOOGIE NIGHTS and Bob (or Doug) McKenzie. There’s a LOT of Canada to be taken in below, something I’m sure will make JoBlo, Arrow, Bumbray and the boys quite pleased.
As previously mentioned, Baruchel co-wrote the script with Evan Goldberg (PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, SUPERBAD) and also stars in the film with Schrieber, Seann William Scott, Alison Pill and Eugene Levy. Check out the full trailer below.
