Ok, Fannibals…here's something very cool to chew on.
Last Friday's episode of NBC's "Hannibal" introduced the character of Margot Verger, as portrayed by genre fave Katherine Isabelle, which teased us with what could be in store in upcoming episodes concerning the character of Mason Verger, who we earlier reported would be played by "Boardwalk Empire" and FUNNY GAMES star Michael Pitt. Now we've gotten our first look at Pitt as Verger with a new image that popped up over on Huffington Post.
"Hannibal" showrunner Bryan Fuller recently talked horror and "Hannibal" with the folks at Huff Post and within the article shared a photo (taken by Fuller himself) of Pitts in character as Mason Verger. You may remember that Verger was earlier portrayed by Gary Oldman in Ridley Scott's 2001 film HANNIBAL, horribly disfigured by a previous run in with everyone's favorite cannibal. NBC's "Hannibal" is set to explore Mason Verger more in depth to discover just how Verger and Dr. Lecter's paths cross. Take a look at Pitt as Mason Verger below.
We're not yet sure of when Mason Verger will make an appearance on "Hannibal" but I'm salivating just thinking about what the show is cooking up for his onscreen introduction.
This Friday "Hannibal" cooks up a new episode titled 'Shiizakana' and you can find the synopsis below.
"Hannibal" ep. 2×09 'Shiizakana'
The FBI is called in to investigate the discovery of a truck driver’s body, seemingly torn apart by two separate species of animal working in tandem, neither of which consumed their kill. After one of his therapy sessions, Will (Hugh Dancy) meets Hannibal’s (Mads Mikkelsen) strange new patient, Margot Verger (Katherine Isabelle). Will and Margot compare notes on Hannibal and his unconventional advice. Continually encouraging his patients to revel in what they are, Hannibal aims to determine Will’s true self by sending him a test, the results of which surprise even Hannibal.
"Hannibal" airs on NBC on Friday nights at 10pm/eastern.
