Here’s the poster for Gil Kenan’s Poltergeist, starring Sam Rockwell

Yesterday the first images from Gil Kenan's POLTERGEIST hit the web along with a short teaser and word that we'd be seeing the full trailer for the flick in a few days time (maybe today?), and now we've landed the poster for the Sam Rockwell-starring haunter.

Rosemarie DeWitt, Jared Harris, Saxon Sharbino, Nicholas Braun and Jane Adams also star in POLTERGEIST, which is produced by Sam Raimi and contemporizes the classic tale about…

…a family whose suburban home is invaded by angry spirits. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and take the youngest daughter, the family must come together to rescue her.

POLTERGEIST star Sam Rockwell had earlier described the film as "essentially a child abduction film" and that it's "more of a kids' movie", which worries me greatly. I'm hoping that it's actually closer in tone to the original POLTERGEIST and less like Kenan's earlier animated effort MONSTER HOUSE. Perhaps I'm just reading too much into the "kids' movie" comparison. That brief teaser we shared yesterday certainly didn't look like a movie for the kiddos (damn you, creepy clown!), but we'll have to wait for the full trailer to arrive to see what the tone will be like.
