The X-Files reboot is about to crash land. Are you prepared? In order to get your excitement ramped up to a dizzying height, the Fox team has released one more promo video for the miniseries. You can check it out below, along with the collected synopses for the first four episodes! Get X-perienced!
The series premiere, "My Struggle":
centers on Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigating Annet Mahendru's character, who is believed to be a "possible alien abductee," according to Joel McHale's character, a conservative talk show host who gives Mulder and Scully the tip to investigate her.
In episode 2, "Founders Mutation," originally set to be the fifth but rerouted to an earlier slot:
When a scientist suddenly commits suicide, Mulder and Scully investigate what unseen force may have driven him to it. What they uncover is a laboratory where extreme genetic experimentation has been going on for decades, breeding subjects who possess unexpected and dangerous powers – and who harbor deep resentments.”
In episode 3, the excellently titled "Mulder & Scully Meet the Were-monster":
When a dead body is found in the woods, Mulder and Scully are called in to investigate whether it was an animal attack, a serial killer or just maybe a strange creature as described by eyewitnesses. Meanwhile, Mulder is able to confront some of his own demons about feeling disillusioned with his life’s work.
In episode 4, "Home Again":
Mulder and Scully are sent to investigate the murder of a city official, which it seems no human could have committed. Meanwhile, Scully deals with a personal tragedy, which brings up many old feelings about the child she gave away for adoption.
The X-Files team is joined by Bruce Harwood, Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Rhys Darby, and Kumail Nanjiani. The X-Files will beam onto Fox with a six-episode tenth season on this Sunday, January 24th. Three of the episodes have been written by series creator Chris Carter, with the remaining three written and directed by X-Files veterans Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan, and James Wong.
