First it was ‘never‘, then it became ‘a possibility‘, and now… I don’t even know. I’m inclined to assume that Bill Murray is having a good time stringing the studio along in terms of his potential involvement in GHOSTBUSTERS 3 – one of those rare few movies that become infamous before they even enter production. So, you wanna know what ‘Peter Venkman’ said this time? Take a look below.
While speaking with none other than David Letterman, Bill Murray had the following to say when asked about the possibility of another GHOSTBUSTERS movie:
“That’s about all they want to know at Cannes, too…But, um…They just don’t have a really good script. It’s hard. Even the Second Ghostbusters wasn’t as much fun for me as the first one. It’s hard to make a sequel. That first one was really funny. It was just so darn funny, it’s hard for me…”
When further pressed for answer, Murray said:
“We’ll try again.”
Sigh… Bottom line – it’s apparently still being written.
I honestly can’t be bothered anymore. If there’s one thing I would like to say to the great Mr. Murray and all the people involved, it would be this: Make the movie or don’t, just make up your mind already. Yes, it could be fun if done right. No, it could never match the original on a number of levels (if any).
