Like any self-respecting horror fan, I own a monthly subscription to Shudder. The top streaming service online for all things horror has really stepped up there already tight game this past year and it looks like they plan to keep the bloody ball rolling in 2019 as they have just released their list of films coming to the site this month. Films coming to the streaming service this month include THE VOID, THE CHANGELING, DON'T LOOK NOW, THE FACULTY, HELLRAISER III: HELL ON EARTH, BLOODY BIRTHDAY, BRAIN DAMAGE, DON'T TORTURE A DUCKLING, and DON'T LEAVE HOME.
Personally, I'm most excited about HELLRAISER III: HELL ON EARTH as the movie is one of my favorite underappreciated classics of our genre. I also love me some BRAIN DAMAGE and DON'T LOOK NOW. But if I had to send you guys one recommend, it would probably be IMAGES (buy it HERE).
Never heard of it? That makes sense. Here's a quick rundown. The 1972 psychological horror film was written and directed by Robert Altman and stars Susannah York and René Auberjonois. It follows an unstable children's author who finds herself engulfed in apparitions and hallucinations while staying at her remote vacation home. The film premiered at the 25th Cannes Film Festival (York won Best Actress) and none other than Mr. John Williams composed the film's score. It's a love it or hate it kind of movie – and SLOW – but I dig it so let me know if you do too.
