Hemsworth, Thompson save the galaxy in new MIB: International trailer

The MEN IN BLACK series makes its return after seven years, but this time around it has a whole new look, vibe, cast and set of powerful weapons they can use to destroy anything in their path, which is pretty neat. New stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson will be traveling to exotic locales, and fighting new extraterrestrial threats with these big guns that can level a small city, and in the new trailer for MEN IN BLACK: INTERNATIONAL they do it all with a bit of style and humor.

Different from the first trailer we see more of Agent M’s (Thompson) background, and how her mind was not wiped along with her parents’ years ago after an alien sighting and has since been trying to find the ever-elusive MIB. After being made a member, she teams with Hemsworth’s Agent H to, you know, save the world from some big, bad aliens. We also see much more of Kumail Nanjiani’s little alien character, who seems to be accompanying the duo on their journey, swearing an oath to protect his Agent M as his queen. Think Brienne of Tarth from GAME OF THRONES, but who has a harder time reaching the cookie jar.

Overall this second trailer has more jokes, action, and all the good bits that tease this as a fun reboot of the series from director F. Gary Gray (FATE OF THE FURIOUS) and writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (IRON MAN). While many have a tender spot for the Will Smith/Tommy Lee Jones movies, it’s about time to get some fresh blood in the mix and the chemistry between was proven in THOR: RAGNAROK. They will be the big selling point here, and there’s no reason they can’t own this entertaining popcorn flick and become a new star duo.

MEN IN BLACK: INTERNATIONAL also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Rafe Spall, Laurent Bourgeois, Larry Bourgeois and Liam Neeson and is in theaters June 14.
