Hellraiser reboot video gives first look at Pinhead, reveals October release date

Last week, The Ritual and The Night House director David Bruckner’s Hellraiser reboot earned its R rating from the Motion Picture Association ratings board. Now Hulu has released a short video that gives us our first (albeit somewhat obscured) look at Jamie Clayton (Sense8)  as Pinhead and reveals that the new Hellraiser will be available to watch through the streaming service as of October 7th. You can check out the 15 second video in the embed above.

Producer David S. Goyer came up with the story for the new film, and the screenplay was written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski (Super Dark Times). Based on Clive Barker’s novella The Hellbound Heart, the film has the following synopsis:

A young woman struggling with addiction comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that its purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension.

Clayton is joined in the cast of the new Hellraiser by Odessa A’zion (Let’s Scare Julie), Adam Faison (Everything’s Gonna Be Okay), Drew Starkey (Outer Banks), Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why),  Aoife Hinds (Anne Boleyn), Jason Liles (Stereoscope), Yinka Olorunnife (The Transporter), Selina Lo (Boss Level), Zachary Hing (Halo), Kit Clarke (Leonardo), Goran Visnjic (The Boys), and Hiam Abbass (Blade Runner 2049).

A Hulu Original, in association with Spyglass Media Group, the film was produced by Goyer, Barker, Keith Levine, and Marc Toberoff. Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre, and Todd Williams serve as executive producers, with Chris Stone and Gracie Wheelan co-producing.

What do you think of (what we can see of) Jamie Clayton’s Pinhead? Will you be watching the Hellraiser reboot on Hulu in October? Share your thoughts on this one by leaving a comment below.

I will be watching this Hellraiser for sure. Barker has also been working on an HBO Max Hellraiser series – an entirely separate project from this reboot – that’s headed up by David Gordon Green, Mark Verheiden, and Michael Dougherty… but we have no idea what the status of that series is now, especially with all the craziness that has been going on at HBO Max lately.
