One of my favorite Halloween past time stories used to be The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Something about the time period, the Headless Horseman and the forsaken bridge always captivated me. So naturally I was incredibly excited about Tim Burton’s SLEEPY HOLLOW, only to be disappointed in the lack of interest the movie showed to the source material.
I have yet to see a Sleepy Hollow based film that really captivates me like the story did when I was a young child but it is good that people are still trying. THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN is another rendition of the old story about A group of college students who end up in a secluded town, get caught up in their horrific Halloween ritual. Directed by Anthony C. Ferrante, this film was recently reviewed JimmyO, and though he only saw an unfinished cut, he liked what he saw. Now an unofficial trailer (below) has popped up over at YouTube. Check it out.
The film will have it’s cable premiere on the Sci Fi Channel on October 27th but will debut officially at debuts at the Los Angeles Screamfest on Saturday, October 20th and then a NYC screening at the Pioneer Theater (155 East 3rd Street) on the 22nd at 6:30pm. I’ll definitely give this film a look when it premieres onf the Sci Fi Channel.
