HBO announced today on Twitter that their cerebral "what if theme park animatronics started a revolution" series WESTWORLD will now be renewed for a fourth season. Which is exciting, especially with how far the series has stretched itself beyond its initial premise (in a good way). Anyway, you can see the tweet for yourself below:
Obviously, no firm dates on when production will start or when the new season will premiere, but it is nice to know that WESTWORLD's winding, twisting story isn't quite finished yet.
So what do you guys think? Are you excited for the direction the show is going? Either way sound off below!
Westworld isn't your typical amusement park. Intended for rich vacationers, the futuristic park — which is looked after by robotic "hosts" — allows its visitors to live out their fantasies through artificial consciousness. No matter how illicit the fantasy may be, there are no consequences for the park's guests, allowing for any wish to be indulged. "Westworld" is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie of the same name and features an all-star cast.
