BEHIND THE WALLS, the directorial debut of twin brothers Jon and James Kondelik, is a project I have been keeping track of for a while now, as I've been intrigued by the unique and clever way the Kondeliks chose to tell a haunted house story. Although the set-up is the standard "family moves into a new home and finds that something supernatural lurks within its walls", this version of the story is told from the perspective of the supernatural entities.
Starring Vanessa Angel, Hutch Dano, Reggie Lee, Lew Temple, and Bailey Spry, BEHIND THE WALLS was produced by Jon Kondelik, James Kondelik and Matt Shapira.
The film has the following synopsis:
Years it has waited. Now, someone has moved in. Through the eyes of the evil within, we witness a broken family desperately seeking a new beginning, in a new home. But this house lives, watches and wants them to stay – FOREVER.
Soon we'll have the chance to see how this twist on an old tale plays out, as Ammo Content will be giving BEHIND THE WALLS a home video release on December 4th. The film will be available on all VOD platforms and through Redbox.
The trailer can be seen below, and I like that the spirits in the house are clearly evil and mean. Some filmmakers might have chosen to make them sympathetic, since we're seeing the events from their perspective. I'd much rather have spirits that terrify and slam people around like these ones appear to.
I look forward to watching BEHIND THE WALLS, and it will be available for viewing in just five days.
